Day 8

Back Home (kind of)
9/12
In the morning grandpa dealt with the car, and got everything sorted out without many more charges. It took him along time though and grandma and I had time to go shopping. We found some sweet new threads and did some window shopping also. We also checked out the printemps home store and found some more stuff, and this chef was doing a demo and thought he was hot snot when all he did was put a green frosting on a cookie and a candied cherry. It was boring and didn’t taste amazing at all. Of the other stuff we looked at a lot of it was way, and I mean way out of our budget. So we had a coffee, and looked at the champs d’elysee, and then headed back to the hotel to see if the gramps was back yet. He was back and tired, he had to walk a lot so we found a small museum to see without him and headed off.
A quick metro ride and we were close, to the mussee Jacquemart Andre. It’s a fancy building that this guy (when not married) built for himself. He had this woman paint his portrait and they fell in love n’ stuff. They then spent their life collecting art and filling this big house with pictures. Sounds like the good life to me. (side note: I’m watching horse jumping, not much else is on, and they used my humps as the song, I Lolled a bit). It was a nice collection and included some famous names. It was a bit small, when compared to the Louvre and d’Orsey, but when you take into account that this is a personal collection, I wish I had that much famous art in my house. The music room was one of the most interesting places because it had a mezzanine like place where the music was softer and it was kind of lounge like. I which I could have a place in my house like that. So we headed back to the hotel and took a break from looking at stuff.
We watched most of the U.S/Tonga rugby match and made reservations to that one restaurant we went to on the second day. This time I had the fish and it was excellent. Grandpa had the liver again and he really liked it again. We stayed longer this time and had a coffee in the lounge upstairs. It was nice to relax in a big chair and talk for the night. We only have a few days left and they will be busy. We’ve kind of hit all the big touristy targets so what do we do now? I know we can find something to have fun with. As long as we are not in a car, I’m good.
