A Little Something

While browsing the vast quantities of internets, I came upon a little gem called Mega Piranha. In the vein of megashark and sharktopus and every other ridiculous Sci-fi, sorry, SyFy original movie. If you haven’t seen any of these movies, you must change that immediately. Ice Spiders is a favorite, but the upcoming Sharktopus may beat that. They’re awful and hilarious, but mostly awful. Watch one just so you can say you did. In the mean time check out this clip.

Movies

New movies are being annouced left and right about now and with the summer already half way through (oh man it hurts to say that) Some of the movies that we are seeing trailers for are only the tip of great things.

Coming soon are movies like:
50 Dead Men Walking, District 9, Inglourious Basterds, 9, and Gamer. All being released by the end of September we have some good things to look forward to. I have already read the script to inglourious basterds, directed by Quintin Tarentino and staring Brad Pitt. It will be good, that’s all I should say. 50 Dead Men looks interesting mainly for it’s plot. It’s about an Irishman being taken by MI-5 to infiltrate the IRA. It’s got Irish people, spies, explosions… how could this be bad? District 9 is a movie by Niell Blomkamp and Weta Workshops thats produced by Peter Jackson (which really doesn’t mean a lot, just his name will bring in some people). The story is about a stranded alien species on earth that humans are holding hostage in South Africa. We want their weapons and technology and they just want to leave. At some point they get fed up and fighting begins. From that point on I don’t know any more details. Moving on, 9 is a movie by Shane Acker that is developed from his short film of the same title. It’s a post-apocalyptic story where 9 dolls holding the souls of humans have to fight machines and protect humanity. Oh, and Tim Burton is producing, but who cares. These are just a few to look out for, there are many more that I left out.

Just browsing what is coming up in the Future:
Pride and Predator (yes, pride & prejudice/predator)
World War Z (based on the Max Brooks’ novel)
Indiana Jones 5 (maybe they’ll get 4 right this time)
The Hobbit Parts I & II (Directed by Guillermo Del Toro)
Tron Legacy (Lightbikes and all)
Thundercats
Alice in Wonderland (3D w/ Johnny Depp. Tim Burton Directs)

Stop paying to see terrible movies

I had an interesting conversation with my family the other day. I said that Pirates 3 was really a bad movie when you try to analyze it. Then she brought up a good point. Shouldn’t we just be seeing movies to have a good time. In general we take critics reviews far too heavily and follow whatever they say. Sometimes they are right, but most of the time everyone disagrees with them. I know that there have been many times when I see a movie they said was horrible but I really enjoyed it. We all need to remember that movies are supposed to be enjoyed no matter what the acting is like or how good or bad the visual effects are. If I make a movie I don’t want people trying to analyze what I meant by doing something. I just made a movie because I wanted to. So please go see movies because they look interesting. But please stop going to stupid movies. Like anything that ends in movie (scary, date, not another teen, etc.) its not worth your time and you should not be giving these people money. And my rant is done. Have a nice day, maybe yours can be better than mine.

Movies(old post)

Last week, I posted about the worst movie ever, Electroma. It just made me so angry, so i decided that I needed to watch a good movie this weekend. Hot Fuzz, is one of the best comedies I have seen in a long time, the writing is good, if a bit predictable. It was simply just great. It has action, comedy, and drama and keep’s your attention all the time. Since Shaun of the Dead, I have wanted them to make another movie and this did it. It starts with Simon Pegg’s character in london and he is forced to move to this small rural city. The police force there is very stupid and never has to deal with anything. And then people start dying. from there on it’s kinda the whole movie and it’s hard to say stuff without giving anything away. In conclusion, this is a movie that mostly everyone should see, I say that because it has quite a bit of swearing. Have a good weekend, while I try to download grindhouse. I’ll put up a review soon.
